Bruce Willis ‘Doing Great’ as He Celebrates His 70th Birthday

The Die Hard star, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) – a degenerative disease that affects behaviour and communication – turns 70 today (Wednesday, 19 March 2025). His daughter, Rumer Willis, whom he shares with ex-wife Demi Moore, encouraged fans to send their well wishes.
During an Instagram Stories Q&A session on Tuesday (18 March 2025), Rumer was asked how her father was coping amid his health battle. She responded:
“He's doing great, thank you for asking. It is actually his 70th birthday tomorrow, so please wish my papa a big happy birthday.”
Last month, the House Bunny actress, 36, reiterated that her father was doing well despite his ongoing health challenges.
Speaking on the UK television programme Loose Women, amidst concerns over the Los Angeles wildfires, she said:
“He's doing great. I think, like many people in California, the biggest concern at the moment is the wildfires and ensuring everything is safe.
“Because my family is so close, what’s really beautiful is the way we support one another. We truly are a unit.”
In January, Bruce’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, 46, revealed that her husband’s early dementia symptoms were initially misinterpreted as a stutter.
Speaking to Town & Country magazine, she explained:
“He had a severe stutter as a child. When he went to college, a theatre teacher told him, ‘I’ve got something that’s going to help you.’
“Bruce has always had a stutter, but he became skilled at covering it up.
“So, when he started struggling with language, it initially seemed like a part of his stutter.
“Never in a million years did I think it would be a form of dementia—especially for someone so young.”
