Egyptian trucks carrying mobile home materials crossed Rafah for inspection at Kerem Shalom before entering Gaza. Israel’s bombing has devastated Gaza, with over 50,000 deaths reported. A temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is in place, but further negotiations are pending.
Egyptian Trucks Carrying Mobile Homes Head to Gaza Amid Ongoing Ceasefire Talks

Egyptian state media reported that trucks carrying materials to build mobile homes crossed the Egyptian gate of the Rafah crossing on Thursday. These trucks were headed to an inspection area at the Kerem Shalom crossing before being allowed into Gaza.
Aid trucks and other supplies must first pass through the Israeli-controlled Kerem Shalom crossing for inspection before they can enter Gaza.
Egypt's state-run Al Qahera News TV, which is closely linked to the country’s security agencies, aired footage showing the trucks carrying materials moving along a road after crossing the gate.
It remains unclear when the mobile homes will be permitted to enter Gaza. Israel’s bombing of Gaza has left the territory devastated.
According to U.N. estimates, approximately a quarter-million housing units have been destroyed or damaged.
Since the war in Gaza began, more than 50,000 people have died in Gaza and Lebanon, while nearly 70% of the buildings in Gaza have been destroyed, according to health ministries in Gaza and Lebanon.
Meanwhile, around 1,200 people were killed in Israel during the October 7 attack.
A ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas took effect last month, temporarily pausing the war in Gaza. However, Israel and Hamas have yet to negotiate the second and more complex phase of the ceasefire, with the first phase set to end in early March.
