The supplies will be transferred to Gaza with the assistance of Jordanian authorities, who have played a crucial role as a transit partner for humanitarian aid to the besieged region.

Türkiye has sent 24 tonnes of food aid to Gaza as part of its ongoing humanitarian support for Palestinians, according to the National Defence Ministry. A Turkish Air Force A400M military cargo plane transported the aid, landing at Amman Civil Airport in Jordan earlier. The supplies will be transferred to Gaza with the help of Jordanian authorities, who have been instrumental in facilitating humanitarian aid to the region under siege.

Since the onset of Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, Türkiye has been actively providing medical, food, and emergency aid to Gaza. The country has consistently called for an end to hostilities, unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid, and a lasting ceasefire. As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza intensifies, Türkiye has pledged to continue its relief efforts in collaboration with regional partners and international organizations.

In addition to its efforts in Gaza, Türkiye's state aid agency has donated an ambulance to a hospital in Lebanon. During a ceremony at the Sidon Turkish Trauma and Rehabilitation Hospital, Lebanese Health Minister Firas al-Abyad expressed gratitude for Türkiye’s assistance, particularly medical supplies, amid the recent Israeli attacks. The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) provided the ambulance and has continued its support, which was acknowledged by Minister al-Abyad.

Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon, Murat Lutem, stated that the Sidon Turkish Trauma and Rehabilitation Hospital, established during the 2006 Israeli invasion, continues to serve as a symbol of solidarity between Türkiye and Lebanon, especially during times of crisis. He emphasized the hospital's exemplary service and advanced infrastructure, comparable to hospitals in Türkiye, providing critical care during emergencies.

The Turkish Trauma and Rehabilitation Hospital in Sidon, located 44 km south of Beirut, features an emergency department, intensive care units, operating rooms, and technical units. It also has a patient care section, including administrative offices and hospital beds. After reopening in November following Israeli attacks, the hospital continues to operate at full capacity to meet the medical needs of the region.

The ongoing Israeli onslaught on Gaza has reportedly claimed the lives of over 47,460 Palestinians, causing widespread destruction and creating one of the worst humanitarian crises in history, with a particularly high toll on the elderly and children. In November of the previous year, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the Palestinian enclave.
