Dramatic Love Island recoupling scenes await viewers on Thursday night as the new series achieves its highest viewership since its inaugural episode.

Host Maya Jama, 29, delighted fans on Wednesday with her most glamorous outfit yet as it was revealed she is entering the villa.

The Islanders have been captivated by the fan-favourite Casa Amor storyline, where six new boys and girls attempt to sway them from their current partners.

Each series alternates between sending boys and girls to the new villa Casa Amor, and this year, the girls went while the boys remained.

Islanders in both villas have clearly been attracted to the new arrivals, but fans will have to wait to see whether they choose to recouple with them.

Wednesday's episode of the ITV dating show reached a peak viewership of 1.4 million, marking it as the highest-rated episode of the current series.

The episode also garnered the largest overnight audience among 16-34 year-olds so far this series, with 449,000 viewers.

The series as a whole has amassed 76 million streams after 28 episodes, a 10 million increase from the 2023 summer series.

During the recoupling, Maya will ask each boy to stand up in turn.

They must then decide whether to stay with their current partner or recouple with someone new.

In a sneak peek, Sean, currently coupled with Matilda, confesses he has felt 'like he’s been a kid in a sweet shop' during Casa Amor.

This revelation doesn't surprise fans who witnessed him share a passionate kiss with new girl Diamanté.

Elsewhere at the firepit, Mimii's partner Ayo boldly declares: 'I’m all up in the air to be fair.'

He had previously claimed Mimii's energy wasn't sufficient for him and has also become physical with a new girl named Jessica.

With plenty of surprises and revelations, along with a heartfelt reunion that moves even Maya Jama to tears, brace yourself for an explosive gathering around the Fire Pit.

MailOnline can exclusively reveal that Maya will be emotionally moved by some of the boys' decisions.

ITV will extend the episode to accommodate all the anticipated drama.

Love Island airs on ITV2 and ITVX at 9 pm tonight and every Sunday to Friday.
