Despite his limited playing time at La Real, Silva has expressed his desire to extend his stay for another season. "I've felt really good here and would like to continue, but my priority is playing and contributing to the team."

Real Sociedad missed out on securing Alexander Sorloth permanently last summer, a decision they likely regret now seeing his form with Villarreal. Consequently, they secured a loan deal with RB Leipzig for another striker, Andre Silva.

However, Silva has struggled in Donostia-San Sebastian. In 23 matches across all competitions, he has scored just three goals, two of which came in La Liga within a week in March against Sevilla and Granada. Manager Imanol Alguacil seems hesitant about Silva's impact, often favouring Mikel Oyarzabal, Sheraldo Becker, and Umar Sadiq ahead of him.

Despite his disappointing spell, Silva admitted to Diario AS that he has enjoyed his time at Real Sociedad.

“I’ve felt very good in the city, with my teammates, with the team, with the fans, with the culture… but the most important thing is to play.”

Despite limited playing time, Silva also expressed his desire to stay for at least another season.

“I’ve felt really good and I’d like to stay here, but what I like the most is to play and be important for the team. I’m still convinced that’s going to be the case, I know it’s possible. The most important thing for a player is to feel valued and reciprocated with what they are trying to offer.

“I’m on loan here at Real Sociedad, and they have an option to buy me. If they don’t do it, I’ll go back to Leipzig.”
