"Olivia Rodrigo has expressed deep disappointment after her two Manchester shows were postponed.

The 21-year-old pop star was set to perform two sold-out gigs at the newly opened Co-op Live arena, the UK's largest indoor concert venue, on Friday (3rd May 2024) and Saturday (4th May 2024). However, organisers had to cancel the performances due to an "on-going venue-related technical issue".

Olivia shared on her Instagram Stories: "Hello! I've been having a great time in Europe so far and I'm sooooo disappointed that we're unable to perform in Manchester due to on-going venue-related technical issues. We're doing our best to reschedule the show. You can hold onto your tickets for further info or request a refund at your point of purchase. More info will be sent directly to ticket holders. I'm really gutted and I hope to see you all soon."

Co-op Live, with a capacity of 23,500, postponed the arena's opening for a third time on Wednesday night (1st May 2024).

Rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was also affected as his scheduled performance was cancelled due to "a venue-related technical issue", with concert-goers already present at the £365 million arena.

A post on Co-op Live's account at 6.40pm on Wednesday stated: "Due to a venue-related technical issue, tonight’s A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie show will no longer go ahead. We kindly ask fans to leave the area. Ticket holders will receive further information in due course.

"We deeply apologise for the significant inconvenience this will cause for many."

The rapper, aged 28, expressed frustration about the situation, stating on his Instagram Stories: "Something happened with the venue during soundcheck today that led to the cancellation of the show. We are working on rescheduling in the next few days. I'm frustrated about the situation too, but safety comes first. Manchester, I got you. Just stay tuned for further info."

Just two hours later, the venue announced the postponement of Olivia's gigs this week due to an "on-going venue-related technical issue".

They stated: "Due to an on-going venue-related technical issue, the scheduled performances of Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS World Tour on 3rd and 4th May are being postponed. Ticket holders can either hold onto their tickets or obtain a refund at point of purchase.

"We deeply apologise for the significant inconvenience this will cause for many."
