Adam Clayton, the bassist of the iconic rock band U2, and his wife Mariana have officially divorced in an amicable manner. The couple decided to part ways peacefully, ending their marriage on positive terms.

U2 bassist Adam Clayton and his wife Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho have officially divorced after a decade of marriage.

The rock star tied the knot with Brazilian-born Mariana in September 2013 following a four-year courtship.

A spokesperson representing the couple informed the Sunday World, "After more than 10 years of marriage, musician Adam Clayton and lawyer Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho have amicably divorced. Both remain committed to co-parenting their daughter and kindly request privacy for their family."

Adam and Mariana share a six-year-old daughter named Alba.

Prior to his marriage to Mariana, Adam was previously engaged to supermodel Naomi Campbell, an announcement they made together on The Late Late Show in 1994 before parting ways. He later became engaged to Suzie Smith in 2006.

The musician is also a father to a son from a previous relationship.
