Before parting ways with his girlfriend Louise Davies, celebrity chef James Martin revealed his views on marriage, admitting he preferred to avoid extravagant wedding expenses.

Celebrity chef James Martin shared insights into his views on marriage before announcing his split from longtime girlfriend Louise Davies. The couple, who were together for 12 years, recently parted ways.

News of James and Louise's breakup surfaced in March, with a spokesperson for James, 51, confirming that they separated in December 2023 but remain on good terms. Throughout their relationship, they chose not to marry and did not have children.

In a 2019 interview with the Sunday People, James explained his stance on marriage, expressing, "No, it doesn't interest me in the slightest, mainly because I've catered for so many weddings. I admire people who do it, but I'm quite happy. I don't need to spend a large sum of money on a wedding day."

James and Louise began their relationship in 2011 and lived together in Hampshire. James has also discussed his decision not to have children, citing it as a "lifestyle choice" influenced by the demands of his career.

Despite their recent split, James and Louise have maintained a friendship. James has been seen with personal trainer Kim Johnson, previously married to businessman Arun Nayar, Elizabeth Hurley's ex-husband. The couple was recently photographed enjoying an outing in London, with James dressed casually and Kim stylishly attired in a leather miniskirt and navy jumper adorned with a red star.
