Peter Krause Playfully Astonished by Taylor Swift's New Song 'Peter' Dedicated to Him

Peter Krause playfully entertained the idea that he might be the muse behind a track on Taylor Swift's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department."

The "9-1-1" star, 58, reacted with humor to the lyrics of Swift's song "Peter," suggesting the music icon, 34, penned the tune in his honor.

"I can't believe she wrote this about me," Krause quipped as he listened to the track from the second half of the TTPD double album, scrolling through the lyrics on his phone in a video shared on social media.

"Well, you know, it's all this stuff about being a scene-stealer," he jokingly added.

In "Peter," Swift appears to make a reference to the character Peter Pan, a boy who never grows up. The song hints at a person the narrator met in their youth who promised to grow up and "come find" her so they could be together.

While Krause humorously speculated about inspiring the song, "Peter" may actually be a pseudonym for Swift's ex, Matty Healy.

The frontman of The 1975 has referred to himself as a Peter Pan-type on multiple occasions, describing himself as "slightly Peter Pan-ish" in a 2020 interview and as "a sort of emo Peter Pan self-lacerating Pied Piper kind of character" in 2016.

Swift also sings about her love interest being 25 years old when they first got together, coinciding with Healy's age in 2014, when they first met.

Speculation has long surrounded Swift's song "Cardigan," believed by fans to be about Healy. During their brief romance last year, fans interpreted a moment onstage in Nashville, where Swift appeared to mouth a message to Healy during her performance of the song.

"This is about you. You know who you are. I love you," she seemed to mouth, with "Cardigan" containing the line, "Tried to change the ending/Peter losing Wendy," hinting at a connection between "Cardigan" and "Peter."

In June, a source informed PEOPLE that Swift and Healy were no longer together romantically, acknowledging their relationship as a good experience that had run its course.

Swift began dating Travis Kelce in the summer of 2023, while Healy has been in a relationship with Gabbriette Bechtel, a model with a substantial social media following, since September.
