"Premier League Expresses Disappointment Over Nottingham Forest's PGMOL Requests"

The Premier League expressed "extreme disappointment" in Nottingham Forest's social media comments demanding the release of audio recordings of three VAR decisions they contested during their match against Everton.

In response to Forest's calls for transparency, the Premier League issued a statement on Twitter, highlighting that improper questioning of match officials' integrity is never acceptable and stating that they will investigate the matter according to league rules.

Forest's defeat to Everton saw goals from Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil securing a vital win in the relegation battle, moving them four points clear of Forest.

Nottingham Forest also disclosed that they requested the removal of VAR Stuart Attwell from officiating duties due to his alleged allegiance to Luton. They further urged the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) to release audio recordings of key incidents during the match for public scrutiny.

Moreover, Forest called for PGMOL to revise their referee selection process to consider "contextual rivalries in the league table" when determining officials' allegiances.

Former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg, now a referee analyst for Forest, supported the club's claims in a column for the Daily Mail, criticizing the decisions and refereeing as "egregious."

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville called for Clattenburg's resignation, while the Football Association (FA) confirmed an investigation into Forest's social media post.

Nottingham Forest's current position, just one point above Luton in the relegation zone, adds to the urgency of their appeal against a points deduction for breaching Premier League profit and sustainability rules, with a hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
