Afrobeat artist Davido has revealed his pledge of a 300 million naira donation to orphanages across Nigeria.

The 'Timeless' vocalist stated that the donation will be facilitated through his David Adeleke Foundation. "I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria... as my yearly contribution to the Nation... details of disbursement tomorrow," he announced in a post on X.

The Guardian reported a comparable announcement on July 20, 2023, where a sum of #237M was donated and disbursed via the chairman of the disbursement committee, Mrs. Titi Adebayo. Since its establishment in 2022, the foundation has provided diverse forms of assistance to numerous orphanage homes nationwide.

He expressed, "In October 2022, the foundation commenced reaching out to prominent and compassionate Nigerians, soliciting their support in fundraising for the less privileged nationwide. Thanks to the generous contributions from individuals and corporations across diverse sectors and regions, the DAF successfully raised a significant donation sum of 237 million Naira."
