Raheem Sterling Reportedly Arrested Following M3 Incident in Hampshire

Former England international Raheem Sterling has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of several driving-related offences following an incident involving a Lamborghini on the M3 motorway in Hampshire.

According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 9:00am on Thursday, 28 May, near the Minley Interchange. Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that a 31-year-old man from Berkshire was arrested in connection with the investigation and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Police said:

“The driver, a 31-year-old man from Berkshire, has been arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs, driving dangerously, possession of a Class C drug and failing to provide a specimen.

“He has been bailed while our enquiries continue.”

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and police confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Distinguished Career in English Football

Sterling, who currently plays for Dutch club Feyenoord, has enjoyed a distinguished career at both club and international level.

The forward began his football journey with Queens Park Rangers before joining Liverpool’s academy in 2010. He made his senior debut for the Merseyside club in 2012 and went on to score 23 goals in 129 appearances before securing a £49 million move to Manchester City in 2015.

During his seven-year spell at the Etihad Stadium, Sterling established himself as one of the Premier League’s most influential attacking players. He scored 131 goals in 339 appearances and helped City win four Premier League titles, an FA Cup, five League Cups and a Community Shield.

In 2022, Sterling joined Chelsea, where he scored 19 goals in 81 appearances. He later spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Arsenal, featuring in 28 matches and finding the net once.

Following the termination of his Chelsea contract in January, Sterling joined Feyenoord on a free transfer.

International Record

Born in Jamaica, Sterling has earned 82 caps for England, scoring 20 international goals.

He represented the Three Lions at three FIFA World Cups in 2014, 2018 and 2022, as well as two UEFA European Championships in 2016 and 2020, playing a key role in England’s run to the Euro 2020 final.

Police investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
