Marcus Rashford has strongly hinted at his desire to remain at Barcelona after delivering an emotional message following the club’s final match of the season against Valencia.

The Manchester United loanee enjoyed a highly successful campaign under Hansi Flick, helping Barcelona secure both the La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup during an impressive season in Catalonia.

Although Barcelona ended the campaign with a disappointing defeat at Mestalla, Rashford made it clear that his focus is already firmly fixed on the future.

Rashford Hints at Barcelona Stay

The England international took to Instagram shortly after the match to reflect on the season and express his ambition ahead of the next campaign.

“Always a pleasure ⏭️ Season 25/26 hungry for more FC Barcelona,” Rashford posted alongside a video compilation featuring some of his standout moments from the season.

The message has only intensified speculation surrounding his future, with Rashford believed to be eager to extend his stay at the Camp Nou beyond the conclusion of his loan spell.

Barcelona Yet to Reach Agreement with Manchester United

Despite the positive signals from the player, Rashford’s long-term future remains unresolved.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is reportedly keen for the forward to continue at the club after a productive debut season, but negotiations with Manchester United could still prove complicated.

The financial structure of any potential permanent transfer is expected to be a major factor, particularly given Barcelona’s ongoing efforts to balance their squad planning with financial restrictions.

Even so, Rashford’s performances throughout the campaign have strengthened his case to remain part of Flick’s long-term project.

Impressive Numbers in Debut Barcelona Campaign

Rashford played a significant role for Barcelona across all competitions, ending the season with an impressive return of 14 goals and 11 assists in 49 appearances.

His pace, versatility and attacking intelligence quickly made him an important figure within Flick’s squad, while his improved consistency helped reignite his form after a difficult period at Manchester United.

The 27-year-old will now shift his attention towards international duty after being included in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for this summer’s World Cup.

However, with the season now officially over, attention will inevitably turn back towards Barcelona and whether the Catalan giants can find a way to keep Rashford at the club permanently ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
