Juventus 5-0 NEC – Bianconeri In Command To Jumpstart Europa League Campaign

Juventus opened their 2026/27 Europa League campaign in emphatic fashion, cruising to a 5–0 victory over NEC Nijmegen at the Allianz Stadium. Nico Gonzalez, Kerim Alajbegovic, Nick Woltemade, Zeki Celik and Randal Kolo Muani all found the net as the Bianconeri made a commanding start to their European campaign.

Juventus made the perfect start to their 2026/27 UEFA Europa League campaign with a convincing 5–0 victory over NEC Nijmegen at the Allianz Stadium.

Luciano Spalletti's side established control early and were already three goals ahead before half-time. Five different players eventually scored, underlining the attacking variety Juventus displayed throughout the evening.

Nico Gonzalez Opens The Floodgates

Juventus needed only nine minutes to break the deadlock.

Goalkeeper Kamil Grabara launched a long pass forward and Nico Gonzalez reacted quickest when NEC goalkeeper Nikolas Polster came off his line and failed to deal with the ball.

Gonzalez rounded the stranded goalkeeper before calmly finishing into an empty net to give Juventus an early advantage.

Alajbegovic And Woltemade Add Two More

Juventus continued to press and doubled their advantage in the 24th minute.

Kerim Alajbegovic combined with Weston McKennie before producing a powerful right-footed finish into the corner. It was an important moment for the young attacker as he registered his first Juventus goal.

Just 11 minutes later, Gonzalez was brought down inside the penalty area and Juventus were awarded a spot-kick.

Nick Woltemade stepped up and sent Polster the wrong way, making it 3–0 before the interval.

NEC Show Fight But Juventus Stay In Control

Despite the scoreline, NEC were not completely passive.

The Dutch side enjoyed spells of possession after the interval and created some opportunities, but Juventus remained comfortable enough defensively to protect their three-goal advantage.

Grabara, making his Juventus debut, was also able to produce the necessary saves when NEC tested him.

Kolo Muani Sparks The Second-Half Finish

Juventus eventually extended their advantage in the 75th minute.

Randal Kolo Muani produced an impressive run down the wing before delivering a dangerous cross into the area. Zeki Celik arrived to finish from close range and make it 4–0.

Seven minutes later, Kolo Muani got his own name on the scoresheet.

Jhon Lucumi played the French forward through, allowing him to beat the advancing goalkeeper before rolling the ball into an empty net for Juventus' fifth.

One of the clearest positives from the victory was Juventus' spread of goals.

Gonzalez, Alajbegovic, Woltemade, Celik and Kolo Muani all scored, demonstrating that the Bianconeri were not dependent on a single attacking outlet.

The result was particularly useful for Juventus after their recent 3–2 defeat to Sassuolo.

Spalletti's side responded with a performance full of attacking intent, defensive control and clinical finishing. Football Italia also noted that the result provided some breathing space for the Juventus manager following the disappointing domestic defeat.

Bianconeri Set The Standard Early

Juventus now have three points from their opening Europa League fixture and a significant goal difference after their five-goal victory.

The Italian giants will face Celta Vigo next in the competition on 15 October, according to UEFA's published fixture list.

The 5–0 result sends an early message about Juventus' ambitions in Europe, while Spalletti will hope the confidence generated by such a convincing opening can also translate into stronger performances in Serie A.

For the Bianconeri, the European campaign could hardly have begun in more emphatic fashion.
