Chelsea have cancelled the deal that would have seen Nicolas Jackson join Bayern Munich on loan, despite the striker having already flown to Germany for a medical.
Chelsea cancel Nicolas Jackson’s Bayern Munich move after striker leaves UK

The Senegal international was set to move to the Bundesliga champions on a season-long loan, with Bayern holding an option to make the transfer permanent after 12 months. However, following a hamstring injury sustained by summer signing Liam Delap during Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Fulham, Chelsea have pulled the plug on the agreement.
According to The Athletic, the Blues informed Bayern that the transfer would not go ahead, with 24-year-old Jackson now instructed to return to London.
Jackson was filmed arriving at Munich Airport shortly after 4pm on Saturday, preparing to complete his medical and finalise paperwork, but the deal was cancelled before it could be concluded.
The proposed move was set to earn Chelsea an initial £13 million, with Bayern holding a £56 million option to buy the striker permanently next summer.
Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023 for £32 million and has since scored 24 goals in 65 Premier League appearances. He signed a contract extension last September, tying him to Stamford Bridge until 2033.
Speaking after the Fulham match, head coach Enzo Maresca told TNT Sports:
“Delap is expected to be out for six to eight weeks because of this type of injury.”
He elaborated further in his post-match press conference:
“Liam’s injury doesn’t look good. He was at full speed and it’s a hamstring, which requires weeks. Then in terms of another striker, I’ve just finished the game, so after this we’ll sit down and make a decision. Two strikers is enough, but when one is out, it’s not. We tried to use a different solution with [Tyrique] George.”
Despite Delap’s setback, Chelsea extended their winning run thanks to goals from Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernández. Pedro struck his fifth goal in six appearances, following up a standout one-goal, two-assist display against West Ham, before Fernández sealed the points with a second-half penalty.
