Barcelona are reportedly keen to retain Marcus Rashford beyond the current season but are unwilling to activate the €30 million (£26 million) purchase option included in his loan agreement from Manchester United.

The England international joined the Catalan club on a season-long loan last summer and has since impressed under head coach Hansi Flick, contributing 13 goals and 13 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

Despite Rashford’s positive impact, Barcelona’s ongoing financial constraints have led the club to reconsider the terms of a permanent transfer.

“Rashford could be the answer,” she said. “He offers a direct attacking threat and a willingness to take risks in the final third, which could add a different dynamic to Arsenal’s forward line.”

Kelly also noted that a move could provide Rashford with a fresh opportunity to take on a leading role again after facing intense scrutiny during his time at Manchester United.
