Highly-rated forward Yan Diomande has remained tight-lipped about his future amid growing transfer interest from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s most sought-after young talents following an outstanding breakthrough campaign with RB Leipzig, where he registered 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

Liverpool are understood to be closely monitoring the youngster as they prepare for life after club legend Mohamed Salah, who departed Anfield at the end of the season. However, recent reports suggest the Merseyside club may face strong competition in their pursuit of the talented attacker.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Diomande was careful not to fuel speculation surrounding his next move when asked where he sees himself in five years' time.

"I'm not going to say something crazy," he said.

"I want to be one of the best players on the pitch, but I want to go slowly, step by step, and achieve what I want in my career."

The teenager joined Leipzig from Leganés last summer and signed a long-term contract running until 2030. While reaffirming his commitment to the Bundesliga club, he acknowledged that his focus remains on continuing his development.

"My contract runs until 2030, so I still have four years remaining," Diomande noted.

Despite his contractual situation, speculation surrounding his future continues to intensify. Few observers expect the highly-rated forward to remain at Leipzig for the entirety of his current deal, with several elite European clubs closely tracking his progress.

Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be monitoring the youngster as uncertainty continues to surround the future of Bradley Barcola. The French winger has faced increased competition for a starting place following the rapid emergence of Désiré Doué, who has become a key figure in Luis Enrique’s attacking plans.

Liverpool may hold an advantage in the race for Diomande’s signature due to the greater likelihood of immediate first-team opportunities. At PSG, he would face fierce competition for a place alongside established attacking stars Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé and Doué.

The Reds may also draw encouragement from comments Diomande made earlier this year regarding his admiration for the club.

"I want to play at Anfield. I want to play for Liverpool. I'm a big Liverpool fan," he previously said.

"My father's dream is to see me play at Anfield, so it has become my dream too.

"To fulfil my father's dream would be a dream for me as well."

Although Diomande later softened those remarks, he maintained that playing for Liverpool remains a special ambition for his family.

With the summer transfer window approaching, the battle for one of European football’s brightest young talents appears set to intensify, as Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain continue to monitor his situation closely.
