Nottingham Forest head coach Sean Dyche praised his side’s growing consistency after they secured a comfortable 3–0 victory over Malmö at the City Ground, extending their unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions.

Goals from Ryan Yates, Arnaud Kalimuendo and Nikola Milenkovic ensured a convincing Europa League win for the Reds, who have now claimed three consecutive victories and suffered just one defeat since Dyche took charge last month.

The result lifted Forest to 16th in the Europa League standings, placing them within the play-off positions. However, Dyche insists the league table is not his primary focus at this stage.

“The mentality we are trying to build here is one game at a time. I’ve never lost sight of that,” he said.

“Every game is important to me, and every game should be important to the team. You don’t have to constantly look at tables when you’re winning games.

“We’ve laid down some really good internal markers — not in response to outside noise, but based on our own standards. I’m really pleased for everyone who has worked so hard. It’s important that you eventually get your reward, and the reward is winning football matches.”

Dyche also emphasised the importance of squad depth and collective responsibility as Forest enter a demanding period in the fixture calendar.

“I’m very pleased,” he continued. “I spoke about the squad mentality because it will be crucial over the next couple of months with such a congested schedule. The lads delivered a professional, solid performance.

“It was important for some of the players to get minutes. I’m pleased to see individuals getting fitter and sharper — those who needed it certainly benefitted tonight. There were some really good performances throughout the team.”
