Nine players from treble-winning Paris Saint-Germain feature among the 30 nominees for the 2025 men’s Ballon d’Or, as announced by France Football. PSG head coach Luis Enrique has also been nominated for the Men’s Coach of the Year award.

Ousmane Dembélé, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Désiré Doué, Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Nuno Mendes, João Neves, Fabián Ruiz and Vitinha all made the prestigious shortlist.

PSG’s Treble-Winning Stars Dominate
Dembélé enjoyed a sensational campaign, scoring 35 goals and providing 16 assists as PSG secured a historic treble — winning Ligue 1, the French Cup, and the Champions League — before finishing runners-up to Chelsea at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Other high-profile nominees include Barcelona’s Raphinha (34 goals, 25 assists), Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (34 goals, 23 assists), who was named Premier League Player of the Season, and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (34 goals, 5 assists).

Scott McTominay also made the list after being named Serie A’s Most Valuable Player for leading Napoli to the title, becoming the first Scotsman in 38 years to be nominated. Barcelona’s 18-year-old Lamine Yamal (18 goals, 25 assists) also earned a place and was shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for best Under-21 player — an award he won last year.

Women’s Ballon d’Or Nominations
Five members of England’s European Championship-winning squad have been nominated for the women’s Ballon d’Or: goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, Lucy Bronze, Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly, and Leah Williamson.

Brazilian legend Marta, 39, has also been recognised after coming out of retirement to captain her country to the Copa América title.

Coach of the Year Nominees
In addition to Luis Enrique, Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca and Liverpool’s Arne Slot are among the Men’s Coach of the Year contenders. Maresca guided Chelsea to Club World Cup glory, while Slot won the Premier League title in his debut season at Anfield.

For the women’s award, Chelsea’s Sonia Bompastor is joined by Arsenal’s Renée Slegers — who led her side to their second Women’s Champions League crown — and England manager Sarina Wiegman, who retained the European title with the Lionesses.

Current Holders and Season Highlights
Spanish midfielder Rodri and Aitana Bonmatí are the reigning Ballon d’Or holders. Rodri endured an injury-hit campaign with Manchester City, while Bonmatí finished as a Euro 2025 runner-up after Spain lost to England in the final.
