David Moyes has stated he would be open to extending his stay at Everton F.C., but insists there is no urgency surrounding contract negotiations as the club continues its push for a return to European football.
Moyes Open to New Everton Deal but Urges Patience Over Talks
Since returning to Goodison Park midway through last season, Moyes has overseen a remarkable turnaround. Everton, who were hovering just above the relegation zone at the time, have climbed to eighth in the Premier League, placing them firmly in contention for European qualification.
The 62-year-old, who previously guided Everton to nine top-eight finishes during his first spell—including a fourth-place finish in the 2004/05 campaign—has once again restored stability and ambition at the club.
Speaking ahead of a crucial fixture against Brentford F.C., Moyes reaffirmed his affection for Everton but played down speculation regarding a contract extension.
“I love it here,” he said. “There’s no issue, but there’s also no rush. My focus is on the coming weeks and ensuring the team finishes the season strongly.”
With both Everton and Brentford level on points and within touching distance of the Champions League qualification places, the immediate priority remains on-field performance rather than long-term discussions.
Moyes’ measured approach reflects both his experience and commitment, as Everton aim to secure a long-awaited return to European competition.
