Scott Parker’s side could be without several key names as they visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur begin their 2025/26 Premier League campaign on Saturday afternoon, welcoming Burnley to north London. The fixture marks Scott Parker’s return to the capital, with his newly-promoted Clarets aiming to make a statement on the opening day.

After securing promotion from the Championship last season, Burnley travel to face a Spurs side looking to improve significantly on last year’s 17th-place finish under new manager Thomas Frank.

Tottenham come into the match after a narrow penalty shoot-out defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night. Despite the loss in Italy, there were several positives to take from the encounter with the Champions League holders.

Attention now shifts fully to the Premier League, where Spurs are favourites to claim victory. However, Parker will have to contend with multiple injury concerns that could see up to six first-team players unavailable.

In his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Parker confirmed that Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer and Bashir Humphreys are all ruled out, while doubts remain over Axel Tuanzebe, Connor Roberts and Zian Flemming.

Beyer endured a 19-month absence due to a knee injury last season but recently made his return in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Fleetwood Town, playing 20 minutes from the bench — his first appearance since December 2023.

However, Parker revealed that the defender has suffered another setback:

“Jordan’s okay. He’s back in with us. He’s still going to be a few weeks, but he’s heading in the right direction, in and around the group now.

“But it’s hugely disappointing for Jordan. The boy’s been through an awful amount of disappointment and heartbreak over the last couple of years, and it’s just a real shame. But you often find that when you’ve been out for such a long time, sometimes you can pick up other little things.

“It’s just another little setback for him. He’s a strong boy who will no doubt come back, and we’ll get him to the place we need him to be.”

There is more positive news for Burnley on the availability of new signings Martin Dubravka, Lesley Ugochukwu and Armando Broja, all of whom are in contention to make their debuts. Former Tottenham defender Kyle Walker is also set to feature, alongside Quilindschy Hartman and Jacob Brunn Larsen.
