FG DENIES SCRAPPING JSS AND SSS EDUCATION MODEL | MINISTER CLARIFIES PROPOSED REFORMS

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially debunked claims regarding the alleged scrapping of the Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary School (SSS) education models. In a recent statement, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, clarified that the proposed 12-year education system is designed to streamline students' transition between JSS and SSS by removing examination barriers. This initiative aims to create a more seamless and efficient learning experience for Nigerian students.

However, no final decision has been made yet. The proposal will undergo extensive consultations with key stakeholders before being reviewed at the National Council on Education meeting scheduled for October 2025. Until then, discussions and evaluations will continue to ensure that any changes made to the education system serve the best interests of students and educators alike.
