The Sudanese Armed Forces say they have inflicted heavy losses on the Al-Dagalo militia in Kordofan, Darfur, and Blue Nile, destroying vehicles and killing or wounding dozens of fighters. Fuel depots and ammunition were also destroyed, and security around cities is being strengthened. Sudan has been in conflict since April 2023, causing widespread destruction, displacement, and a humanitarian crisis.

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) say they have dealt heavy blows to the Al-Dagalo militia over the past three days, following intensified military operations across multiple regions of the country. In a statement released on Monday and shared by the state broadcaster SUNA, the army described the Al-Dagalo militia as a “terrorist group” and said its forces have been targeting the militia’s movements and concentrations, resulting in widespread losses for the group.
According to the SAF, operations in the Kordofan region were particularly successful, with 56 military vehicles destroyed and hundreds of militia fighters either killed or injured during clashes. The army also reported significant gains in Darfur, where 47 military vehicles were destroyed and numerous militia members were neutralized in sustained engagements.
In the Blue Nile region, the SAF said it destroyed four military vehicles and inflicted casualties on dozens of rebel fighters. The military also claimed to have destroyed several fuel depots and ammunition stockpiles at undisclosed locations, describing the strikes as a serious setback to the militia’s operational and supply capabilities.
The statement emphasized that government forces are working to expand security perimeters around cities and strategic installations, a move aimed at consolidating control over key areas and preventing further attacks. “The Armed Forces remain steadfast in driving out the terrorist militia and cleansing the country of its presence,” the statement said, highlighting the military’s determination to continue operations across the nation.
Sudan has been engulfed in conflict since April 2023, when fighting erupted between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The clashes have caused widespread destruction, forced millions of people to flee their homes, and created a worsening humanitarian crisis across the country. Civilians continue to face insecurity, with many struggling to access basic necessities amid the ongoing fighting.
The SAF’s latest announcement underscores the intensity of the conflict and the government’s commitment to regaining control over areas affected by militia activity, but it also serves as a reminder of the ongoing suffering faced by ordinary Sudanese people caught in the crossfire.
