Rashford enjoyed a productive campaign in Catalonia, contributing 14 goals and 11 assists in 49 appearances according to reports, while helping Barcelona win La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. The club nevertheless declined to activate the €30 million purchase option included in his loan agreement. Instead, Barcelona invested heavily in Anthony Gordon from Newcastle.

Deco Explains Barcelona's Decision

Speaking to RAC1, Deco made it clear that Barcelona appreciated what Rashford had delivered during his loan spell. However, he explained that the club's sporting vision was more closely aligned with Gordon's profile.
