Antony’s proposed transfer from Manchester United to Real Betis has been revived, with the two clubs reaching an agreement on a deal worth €25 million (£21.65m) for the Brazilian winger.

United initially believed a deal had been finalised on Friday, only for Betis to release a statement announcing their withdrawal from negotiations. The move broke down after Antony, 25, requested that a portion of his United contract be paid off before completing the switch.

Talks resumed over the weekend, and United sources have now confirmed that a breakthrough has been achieved, clearing the way for Antony to undergo a medical ahead of the move. The final agreement is structured at €22m (£19.06m) plus €3m (£2.59m) in add-ons. Crucially, the deal includes a 50% net sell-on clause, but no payoff will be made directly to the player.

Antony originally joined Manchester United from Ajax in 2022 for £81.3m. During his time at Old Trafford, he made 62 Premier League appearances, registering five goals and three assists.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Betis, where he impressed with nine goals in 26 appearances across all competitions. His permanent move to Spain is expected to be officially confirmed on Monday.

Meanwhile, midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is set to remain at Manchester United despite seeking a loan move in search of regular playing time. The 20-year-old England international, who was omitted from Thomas Tuchel’s latest Three Lions squad, came on as a substitute during United’s 3-2 victory over Burnley on Saturday.
