Andy Robertson will depart Liverpool F.C. at the end of the season, bringing an end to a distinguished nine-year spell at Anfield.

The Scotland captain, whose contract expires this summer, has been a central figure in one of the club’s most successful modern eras. Since joining in 2017, Robertson has helped Liverpool secure multiple major honours, including two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, and the FA Cup.

In an official statement, Liverpool described the 32-year-old as “a genuine club legend”, highlighting his remarkable contribution across 373 appearances.

Reflecting on his departure, Robertson admitted the decision had not been easy.

“It’s never easy leaving a club like Liverpool. It has been a huge part of my life and my family’s life for the past nine years,” he said.

He revealed that he had previously turned down opportunities to leave, but now feels the time is right for a new chapter.

“Football moves on, and teams evolve. I believe this is the right moment for me to move on and embrace whatever comes next in my career.”

Robertson’s exit follows closely on the announcement that Mohamed Salah will also leave the club at the end of the season, signalling the close of a significant era for Liverpool.
