Victor Osimhen is in danger of missing a possible UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie against Paris Saint-Germain if Galatasaray successfully overcome Liverpool on aggregate on Wednesday night.

The Nigeria international is one booking away from suspension, with a third yellow card in the round of 16 second leg at Anfield triggering an automatic one-match ban under UEFA disciplinary regulations.

Osimhen is not alone in facing this predicament. Five other Galatasaray players—Uğurcan Çakır, İsmail Jakobs, Abdülkerim Bardakcı, Roland Sallai and Noa Lang—are also walking a disciplinary tightrope heading into the decisive encounter.

Despite the looming threat of suspension, Osimhen has been in outstanding form throughout the 2025–26 Champions League campaign, scoring seven goals. His impressive tally places him among the competition’s leading scorers and underlines his importance to Galatasaray’s European ambitions.

Beyond his goalscoring exploits, the striker’s overall influence has been significant. In the first leg at Rams Park, he proved a constant menace to Liverpool’s defence, playing a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s 1–0 victory by stretching the opposition with his pace, strength and intelligent movement.

His ability to trouble elite defenders has been central to the Turkish champions’ strong run in Europe this season.

Liverpool, meanwhile, head into the return leg trailing from the first encounter and will be determined to overturn the deficit in front of their home supporters. Pressing Osimhen aggressively could form part of their tactical approach, both to disrupt Galatasaray’s attacking rhythm and potentially draw a booking that would rule him out of the next round.
