Police confirm arrest after disturbance during heated derby at Ibrox

A man has been arrested and charged following an incident that occurred during Sunday’s Old Firm match between Rangers and Celtic.

Police confirmed that a 28-year-old man was charged with breach of the peace in connection with an incident that took place during the high-profile fixture at Ibrox over the weekend.

Authorities stated that a report regarding the matter will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:
“A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged with breach of the peace following an incident which took place at the Rangers v Celtic fixture on Sunday, 1 March 2026.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Celtic fight back to earn dramatic draw

On the pitch, Celtic staged a strong comeback after falling two goals behind to secure a 2–2 draw against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.

The result has strengthened Celtic’s hopes of securing a fifth consecutive Scottish Premiership title when the season concludes in May.

Rangers had initially taken control of the match, building a two-goal advantage thanks to a brace from Youssef Chermiti.

However, the hosts were ultimately forced to settle for a draw as Martin O’Neill’s side responded through goals from Kieran Tierney and Reo Hatate, with the duo ensuring the visitors left with a valuable point.
