Arsenal and Manchester United also monitoring the French international as Premier League clubs prepare for the summer transfer window
Liverpool Considering €45m Move for Juventus Midfielder Khéphren Thuram
Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a move for Juventus midfielder Khéphren Thuram, with the Merseyside club considering a package worth around €45 million for the French international.
According to reports, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all interested in securing the services of the 24-year-old during the upcoming summer transfer window. The three Premier League heavyweights are understood to be searching for a versatile midfielder and have identified the Juventus star as a potential target.
However, Juventus are believed to value Thuram significantly higher, with the Serie A club expected to demand between €65 million and €75 million before they would consider allowing the midfielder to leave Turin.
Thuram’s mixed spell at Juventus
Khéphren Thuram has experienced an inconsistent spell since joining Juventus from OGC Nice in July 2024.
Born in Reggio Emilia, Italy, the French midfielder spent much of his development years in France and progressed through the youth academy at AS Monaco. Nevertheless, he rose to prominence during his time with OGC Nice, where his performances established him as one of the most promising midfielders in Ligue 1.
Since arriving at Juventus, Thuram has struggled at times to cement a regular starting position. Despite this, he has still managed to make close to 100 appearances for the Italian giants, contributing seven goals and 12 assists.
His reputation remains strong across Europe, with several major clubs continuing to monitor his situation closely ahead of the next transfer window.
Premier League interest growing
Arsenal could enter the market for a new midfielder this summer, particularly as Christian Nørgaard is now on the wrong side of 30. The north London side may also seek additional quality and depth alongside Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice in midfield.
As a result, Thuram has emerged as a potential target for Arsenal, with the club reportedly maintaining a long-standing interest in the Frenchman.
Liverpool have also been linked with Thuram for some time. The Reds are believed to be keen on strengthening their midfield options, especially with uncertainty surrounding the long-term future of Wataru Endo.
Several names have appeared on Liverpool’s shortlist, and Thuram remains one of the players under consideration as the club looks to reinforce its squad.
Manchester United are another club monitoring the situation. Casemiro is expected to leave Old Trafford as a free agent at the end of the season, while Manuel Ugarte has struggled to make a consistent impact since joining from Paris Saint-Germain 18 months ago.
Liverpool leading the race
Despite interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, Liverpool are currently believed to be leading the race for Thuram’s signature.
The Premier League champions are reportedly considering submitting an offer worth €45 million for the Juventus midfielder. However, Juventus’ valuation of between €65 million and €75 million could present a significant obstacle in negotiations.
With several English clubs interested in the French international, the coming months are expected to determine whether Thuram will remain in Serie A or make the move to the Premier League.
