Mohammed Kudus could require surgery after suffering a setback in his recovery from a thigh injury, casting serious doubt over his availability for the remainder of the season.

The Tottenham Hotspur winger has been sidelined for over three months since limping off during a 1–1 draw against Sunderland on 4 January. Initially, the club had hoped the 25-year-old would return following the recent international break, potentially featuring in the final fixtures of the campaign.

However, sources indicate that Kudus is now unlikely to play again this season. In an official statement, Tottenham confirmed that although he had recently resumed team training, he will undergo further specialist assessment and may require surgical intervention.

The setback represents a significant blow for manager Roberto De Zerbi, whose side currently sit just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Kudus, who joined Spurs in a £55 million move from West Ham United last summer, now faces a race against time to regain fitness ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

Ghana national football team are scheduled to begin their campaign against Panama national football team on 18 June, before taking on England national football team and Croatia national football team later in the group stage.
