London City Lionesses defender Maddi Wilde has shown her support for Salisbury-based homelessness charity Alabaré by inviting a former service user for a kickabout.

Wilde, 20, who became an ambassador for the charity during the summer, welcomed Chloe — a former resident of Alabaré’s Sarum House accommodation in Andover — to the club’s training ground in Aylesford.

Chloe experienced homelessness after being subjected to financial abuse by a family member, but received support from Alabaré, which helped her regain stability and rebuild her life.

Reflecting on her journey, she said:

“Football has always been my escape from life — I love the sport. I was homeless and a victim of financial abuse. From there, I found Alabaré, worked with them and got support, and today, I’m here. It’s been an incredible, whirlwind journey.”

Wilde said she was honoured to spend time with Chloe and learn more about her experiences.

“It was an absolute pleasure to show Chloe around Cobdown Park, spend some time with her, and hear more about how Alabaré is making a real difference in providing homes, restoring hearts and empowering minds.
I’m really proud to be an ambassador for the charity and was so pleased to hear how they’re helping people like Chloe turn their lives around every single day.”

Chloe has since moved into her own accommodation in London, continues to pursue her passion for football, and is now a regular at Salisbury Football Club.
