Andoni Iraola will leave AFC Bournemouth at the end of the 2025–2026 season, bringing an end to his three-year spell in charge at the Vitality Stadium.

The 43-year-old Spaniard, who arrived in June 2023 following the departure of Gary O’Neil, oversaw a significant rise in Bournemouth’s fortunes, guiding the club to a ninth-place Premier League finish last season and a record points tally in the top flight.

With his contract due to expire in the summer, Bournemouth had been in discussions over a possible extension but have now confirmed they have reluctantly accepted his decision to move on.

In an official statement, the club said: “AFC Bournemouth can confirm that head coach Andoni Iraola will leave the club at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, bringing an end to his successful three-year tenure on the south coast.”

Iraola has been linked with a return to former club Athletic Bilbao, as well as potential interest from Manchester United.

His departure comes just days after Bournemouth’s impressive 2–1 victory over Premier League leaders Arsenal, a result that further strengthened the club’s strong campaign.

Reflecting on his time at the club, Iraola said: “It has been an honour to manage Bournemouth and I am proud of what we have achieved together.

“I’m thankful to the players and staff that I’ve worked with, as well as Bill Foley, who have all made my time here so special.

“To the fans, you have continued to show your fantastic support to myself and the team, and for that I will always be grateful.

“I feel this is the right moment for me to step away, but I will always carry fantastic memories of this club.”

Bournemouth owner Bill Foley praised Iraola’s impact, highlighting his role in establishing a clear footballing identity at the club.

“Andoni has been instrumental in shaping the direction of this football club over the past three seasons,” Foley said. “He brought intensity, innovation, and a clear philosophy that elevated Bournemouth both on and off the pitch.

“We are incredibly thankful for his leadership and will always have great memories of our time working together, as well as the things we accomplished.”

The club also confirmed that fitness coach Pablo de la Torre will depart alongside Iraola at the end of the season.
