Alan Rough Urges Celtic to Prioritise Long-Term Vision Over Martin O'Neill Appointment

Former Scotland goalkeeper Alan Rough has urged Celtic to focus on the club's long-term future rather than appointing club legend Martin O'Neill as their next permanent manager.

Despite widespread admiration for O'Neill's remarkable achievements in charge on an interim basis this season, Rough believes the Scottish champions should adopt a strategic approach when selecting their next manager.

"If the intention is to appoint him for only a year, I believe Celtic need to think much further ahead than that."

"Celtic should be looking at someone on a three or four-year contract," he continued.

"We've already seen situations where players have been brought in, failed to make the desired impact and then moved on shortly afterwards."
