New Album and North American Tour
The band’s new record has been previewed with the lead single my mind is a mountain, which is now available to stream. The album has been co-produced by Nick Raskulinecz (known for his work with Alice In Chains and Foo Fighters), who also collaborated with Deftones on Diamond Eyes (2010) and Koi No Yokan (2012).
Coinciding with the album release, Deftones will also begin the North American leg of their tour in Vancouver. The US dates will feature support from Phantogram, IDLES, and Barbarians of California on selected stops.
The road to private music has been long-awaited by fans. After teasing its existence as early as 2023, frontman Chino Moreno confirmed in spring 2024 that the record was nearly complete:
“We have a whole record recorded all musically. And it’s pretty much my job right now to finish up the vocals… We’re not really in a rush. We want it to be great. I think that’s most important. But it is coming, and, yeah – it’s really good.”
Private music will be the band’s follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2020 album, Ohms.
