Gunman Kills Eight Children in Domestic Shooting Across Multiple Locations in Shreveport

A gunman killed eight children and injured two adults in a domestic-related shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana. Police say the suspect, believed to have acted alone and to be related to some of the victims, opened fire across multiple locations before attempting to flee in a stolen car. Describing the scale and severity of the incident, Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith told reporters that the scene was extensive and unlike anything many officers had encountered before, emphasizing the shocking nature of the violence.
Officials confirmed that the victims were all children, with ages ranging from as young as one year old to as old as fourteen. In addition to the eight children who were killed, two adults were also reportedly shot during the incident, further underscoring the breadth of the attack.

Bordelon further revealed in comments made to the US broadcaster NBC that several of the children who were shot were believed to be the suspect’s own descendants, pointing to a deeply personal and tragic dimension to the crime. He reiterated that investigators believe the suspect was the only individual responsible for firing the shots across the identified locations.
Following the shooting, the suspect attempted to escape the scene using a stolen vehicle. Police pursued him, and during the course of the attempted getaway, officers shot the suspect. Authorities confirmed that no police officers were injured during the pursuit or confrontation.
