China’s Xi Meets Belarusian Leader, Praises Strong Bilateral Relations

Xi and Lukashenko strengthen China-Belarus ties, emphasizing cooperation and multilateralism.

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, in Beijing on Wednesday. Xi congratulated Lukashenko once again on his reelection as the president of Belarus. He described the two countries as true friends and good partners, noting that they treat each other with sincerity and trust, according to News.Az citing Xinhua.

Xi pointed out that China and Belarus share an enduring traditional friendship, a strong political mutual trust, and growing cooperation across all fields. He emphasized that China has always viewed and developed its relations with Belarus from a strategic and long-term perspective.

Furthermore, Xi expressed China’s willingness to work together with Belarus to promote the steady development of bilateral ties and foster win-win cooperation. He called on both sides to further enhance coordination and cooperation within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. He stressed the importance of jointly opposing hegemony and bullying, as well as safeguarding international fairness and justice.

Lukashenko, who was making his 15th visit to China, said that during each of his trips, he has felt a genuine sense of friendship from China. He thanked China for its long-term strong support and assistance to Belarus, affirming that his country holds a high degree of trust in China and will actively pursue cooperation with China.

Lukashenko praised China for setting an example to the world by upholding multilateralism and opposing unilateralism, sanctions, and pressure. He expressed admiration for China and reiterated his willingness to work with China to protect international fairness and justice.
