Wolverhampton Wanderers have reached an agreement to sign Norwegian international David Møller Wolfe from AZ Alkmaar, according to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Wolves Agree Deal to Sign Norwegian International Defender David Møller Wolfe

The 23-year-old left-back is poised to join the Premier League club as Wolves aim to bolster their defensive ranks ahead of the upcoming season.
Wolfe is regarded as a dynamic and versatile full-back who made a name for himself during a standout 2024/25 campaign in the Dutch Eredivisie. He featured 47 times in all competitions for AZ Alkmaar, contributing eight assists and two goals. His impressive performances, particularly in high-profile European fixtures such as the Europa League ties against Tottenham Hotspur, drew widespread praise. Known for his ability to support attacking play while remaining defensively sound, Wolfe is seen as a rising talent.
Wolfe to Reinforce Wolves' Left Flank
Following the departure of Rayan Aït-Nouri, Wolves have acted swiftly to secure a replacement, with Wolfe emerging as an ideal candidate. His blend of attacking flair, positional discipline, and strong defensive awareness make him a natural fit to fill the void on the left side of the back line.
Wolfe’s adaptability and high work rate are expected to be key assets for Wolves, especially given the demands of the Premier League, where squad depth and tactical flexibility are critical. The club will be hoping the Norwegian can replicate the form that established him as a pivotal figure for AZ Alkmaar last season.
International Pedigree Enhances Wolfe’s Profile
Wolfe earned his senior international debut for Norway in November 2023 and has quickly cemented his place in the national squad. He scored his first international goal in March 2025 during a 4–2 World Cup qualifying victory over Israel. By July 2025, he had earned 10 senior caps, establishing a reputation for aerial strength, calmness under pressure, and consistency at both club and international level.
As Wolves seek to improve on last season’s performances, the addition of Wolfe is seen as a promising step forward. With a combination of youth, experience, and technical ability, he could prove to be an influential figure in the club’s continued development under the current managerial regime.
