The 2022 World Cup champion was named MLS Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2024 season, even though Inter Miami were eliminated in the playoffs.
This campaign, Messi has once again inspired Miami to a top finish, leading them back into the playoffs after securing third place in the Eastern Conference. He concluded the regular season in spectacular fashion, scoring a hat-trick in a 5–2 win over Nashville SC on Saturday.
The Argentine captain ended the regular season with an incredible 29 goals in 28 matches, earning him the Golden Boot award. Inter Miami are now set to face Nashville SC once again in the first round of the MLS Cup playoffs, which begin on Friday.
