Inter Begin Search for New Head Coach Following Inzaghi Exit
Inter Milan Make Contact with Fabregas Over Managerial Role

Inter Milan have reportedly initiated discussions with Cesc Fabregas as they begin their search for a new head coach, following the departure of Simone Inzaghi. The decision to part ways with Inzaghi came in the wake of a heavy 5–0 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, which proved to be a turning point for the Nerazzurri hierarchy.
According to Sky Sports, the club has already made contact with Fabregas, who is currently the manager of Serie A side Como. While negotiations remain in the early stages, the prospect of appointing the former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder marks a potentially bold and ambitious move for the Italian giants.
“Sky in Italy understands Fabregas is very tempted by the opportunity to coach Inter – but he has yet to give the move his final approval. Further talks are expected to take place shortly,” the report states. With his pedigree as a world-class player and his growing reputation as a coach, Fabregas is emerging as a serious contender to take the helm at one of Italy’s most prestigious clubs.
Como Commitments May Complicate Inter's Approach
However, any potential move to the San Siro may be complicated by Fabregas’s strong ties to Como. The Spaniard is not only the team’s manager but also a part-owner, playing a central role in the club’s long-term vision. His dual responsibilities have already led him to reject managerial offers from both Roma and Bayer Leverkusen earlier this summer.
Fabregas, who has overseen Como’s remarkable rise from Serie B to Serie A, is deeply committed to the project. Walking away at this stage would be a difficult decision for the 37-year-old, whose integrity and loyalty have become hallmarks of his post-playing career.
While Inter remain keen, they will need to present a compelling case to convince Fabregas to trade his Como vision for the pressures and expectations of managing a club of Inter’s stature. Further developments are expected in the coming days as talks progress.
