It was a spectacular night of Champions League football on Tuesday, as goals poured in across Europe. Paris Saint-Germain led the way with a stunning 7–2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, while both Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven hit six, and Arsenal thrashed Atletico Madrid 4–0 in a relentless display at the Emirates.

In total, 43 goals were scored across nine fixtures, with Erling Haaland once again on the scoresheet as Manchester City recorded a 2–0 win away to Villarreal.

PSG Run Riot in Germany

Reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain stole the show in Leverkusen, recording their first-ever seven-goal haul away from home in the Champions League.

Desire Doué struck twice, while Willian Pacho and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also found the net for the visitors during an eventful first half. Alejandro Grimaldo missed a penalty for Leverkusen before Aleix García converted from the spot.

Both teams went down to ten men before half-time, with Robert Andrich sent off for Leverkusen and Illia Zabarnyi dismissed for PSG.

Nuno Mendes added PSG’s fifth shortly after the restart, with García briefly reducing the deficit to 5–2. Ousmane Dembélé, making his first appearance since winning the Ballon d’Or, netted the sixth before Vitinha completed the rout in stoppage time.

“I’m not yet at 100 per cent,” Dembélé told Canal Plus. “I wanted to play at the weekend but the coach asked me to wait a little longer. I felt great tonight.”

The result keeps PSG top of the league-phase standings with a maximum nine points from three matches and the best goal difference of the competition.

Inter, Arsenal Maintain Perfect Starts

Inter Milan and Arsenal also maintained their perfect records. Inter cruised to a 4–0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise in Brussels, with Denzel Dumfries and Lautaro Martínez scoring before half-time. Hakan Çalhanoğlu added a penalty early in the second half, and Pio Esposito rounded off the victory.

At the Emirates, Premier League leaders Arsenal swept aside Atletico Madrid to secure a third successive Champions League win – all without conceding a goal.

All four goals came after the interval. Gabriel Magalhães opened the scoring, Gabriel Martinelli doubled the lead, and Viktor Gyökeres struck twice to end his seven-match goal drought.

“Hopefully it’s the start of something beautiful now,” said Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, praising the Swedish forward’s performance.

Haaland Fires City to Victory

Erling Haaland put Manchester City ahead in Spain, with Bernardo Silva doubling their advantage before half-time. Pep Guardiola’s men now sit on seven points from three matches.

“Things are looking good,” Guardiola told Movistar. “We’re improving day by day, and that’s a positive sign.”

The Norwegian striker’s latest goal means he has now scored 15 goals in 11 appearances across all competitions this season.

Dortmund, Barcelona, Newcastle and PSV Also Triumph

Borussia Dortmund claimed a 4–2 win at FC Copenhagen, thanks to a brace from Felix Nmecha. Ramy Bensebaini converted a penalty, and Fabio Silva also found the net. The Danes briefly equalised through a Waldemar Anton own goal, with Viktor Daðason scoring their second late on.

After losing to PSG in their previous outing, Barcelona bounced back emphatically by dismantling Olympiakos 6–1 at Montjuïc. Fermín López bagged a superb hat-trick, Lamine Yamal scored from the penalty spot, and Marcus Rashford netted twice. Ayoub El Kaabi’s penalty was the only consolation for the Greek side.

Newcastle United continued their impressive return to Europe’s top competition with a 3–0 win over Benfica at St James’ Park. Anthony Gordon opened the scoring, while substitute Harvey Barnes came off the bench to add two more. José Mourinho’s Benfica remain the only side yet to collect a point after three games.

In Eindhoven, PSV produced a remarkable 6–2 triumph against Italian champions Napoli. Although Scott McTominay gave the visitors an early lead, an Alessandro Buongiorno own goal levelled matters before Ismael Saibari put PSV ahead. Dennis Man scored twice, with Ricardo Pepi and Couhaib Driouech also on target. McTominay grabbed a late consolation for Napoli, who had Lorenzo Lucca sent off.
