Two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant has acquired a minority stake in Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain, solidifying a strategic partnership with the club’s majority owners, Qatar Sports Investments (QSI).
NBA Star Kevin Durant Becomes Minority Owner of Paris Saint-Germain

The Phoenix Suns forward has signed an agreement that will see him play a key role in PSG’s expansion into basketball, while also collaborating with the club on a broader range of business ventures.
“It is an honour to partner with QSI and to be a shareholder of PSG, a club and a city that is deeply close to my heart,” said Durant, a four-time Olympic gold medallist.
“This club has big plans and I look forward to being part of the next phase of growth and exploring new investment opportunities with QSI.”
Durant to Guide PSG’s Basketball Ambitions
Earlier this year, QSI expressed interest in establishing a franchise in a future European basketball league, being developed by the NBA in conjunction with FIBA, the sport’s global governing body.
Durant is expected to contribute his vast experience and network in basketball as PSG prepare for this ambitious expansion into the sport.
PSG confirmed that the partnership would involve Durant’s media and investment company, Boardroom, collaborating on a broad spectrum of commercial, investment and content initiatives. The NBA star will also assist in the club’s ongoing sports and business diversification strategy.
A Strategic Step Forward
Durant had previously been linked to PSG through Arctos Partners, a minority shareholder in the club, but has now committed to a direct investment in the 13-time French champions.
Durant’s portfolio of achievements includes two NBA championships with the Golden State Warriors and an Olympic gold medal at the 2024 Paris Games with the United States national team. His influence extends off the court as well — he was recently named in Forbes’ 2025 list of the world’s highest-paid athletes.
PSG’s Era of Growth Under QSI
Since Qatar Sports Investments took over Paris Saint-Germain in 2011, the club has enjoyed a meteoric rise, clinching 11 Ligue 1 titles and, most recently, their first UEFA Champions League trophy — a 5–0 triumph over Inter Milan last month.
With Durant now on board as a shareholder and strategic partner, PSG’s ambitions beyond football appear firmly in motion.
