Former Watford striker Michelle Agyemang came to England’s rescue once more, scoring a dramatic late equaliser against Italy in the semi-final of Euro 2025 to keep the Lionesses' title hopes alive.

Introduced as a substitute, Agyemang struck deep into stoppage time to level the tie at 1–1, just as England appeared to be heading for elimination. With two of the seven added minutes remaining, the 19-year-old drilled home from inside the box to force extra time.
The Lionesses then completed their comeback in the dying moments of extra time, as Chloe Kelly converted on the rebound after her initial penalty was saved, securing England’s place in Sunday’s final.
Agyemang’s reputation continues to soar, having now scored in two consecutive knockout matches. She also netted in the quarter-final clash against Sweden, once again proving instrumental when England were on the brink of defeat.
Despite her heroics, the forward remained humble, crediting her teammates for their collective resilience.
“To be doing this at this level and helping the team is more than I could have wished for – I’m just so grateful to be here,” she told BBC Sport.
“Most of these girls I hadn’t even met two months ago, but it shows the togetherness, the fight, the heart, and the spirit we have in this team.
“We’re going to enjoy this moment, but we’re into the final now. One more game to go – and we’re ready.
“Whatever happens, we’re ready.”
Agyemang was playing in the Women’s Championship with Watford as recently as last season, scoring five goals in 10 appearances during the second half of the 2023/24 campaign.
She was registered under a dual-sign agreement with Arsenal that term before joining Women’s Super League side Brighton on loan for the 2024/25 season, where she has already added another five goals to her tally.
The teenager made headlines on her England debut in April, scoring a superb volley just 41 seconds after coming off the bench against Belgium — a moment that earned her a surprise call-up to the tournament squad in Switzerland.
