Marcus Rashford Signs Barcelona Contract – Official Announcement Delayed

Marcus Rashford is on the verge of becoming the latest addition to FC Barcelona, with only an official announcement remaining to finalise the move.

According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Manchester United forward signed his contract with the Catalan club earlier this afternoon.

However, as reported by SPORT, Barcelona have yet to issue an official statement, as they are coordinating the timing with Manchester United, who are currently en route to the United States for their pre-season tour.

The initial plan was to make the announcement on Monday, but some last-minute formalities have caused a delay.

Despite the hold-up, Rashford trained on Tuesday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. He did not take part in all the drills during the morning session but was present for tactical briefings. Later in the afternoon, he joined several training routines set up by the coaching staff and had the chance to meet his new teammates, with whom he will share the dressing room this season.

Rashford joins Barcelona on a loan deal which includes a €30 million option to buy. The Spanish giants will cover his full salary, which has been significantly reduced to ensure the move was feasible for all parties involved.

Both the player and the club are hopeful that the arrangement could extend beyond this season, although that will ultimately depend on Rashford’s performances on the pitch.

The England international is fully aware of the expectations surrounding his arrival and is determined to rediscover his best form—having agreed to a wage cut to facilitate the transfer.

From Barcelona’s perspective, the deal presents minimal financial risk. Should Rashford struggle to adapt or underperform, the club’s only obligation would be his salary—reportedly €14 million gross following the reduction.

However, if the move proves successful, Barcelona stand to gain a high-calibre forward for just €30 million—a potential bargain in today’s transfer market.
