Marcus Rashford has confirmed his intention to remain at Barcelona as he prepares for his first-ever El Clásico clash against Real Madrid this weekend.

The England international joined the Catalan giants on loan from Manchester United during the summer, with Barcelona holding an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Rashford, 27, has made a strong impression since arriving in Spain, scoring five goals in 12 appearances, including a brace in the midweek Champions League demolition of Olympiacos. His performances have left little doubt about where he sees his long-term future.

When asked by ESPN if he wanted to stay at the club, Rashford responded:

“Oh yeah, for sure. I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player, it’s an honour.”

Although he remains under contract at Old Trafford until 2028, a return to Manchester United appears unlikely under current manager Ruben Amorim. Rashford also spent a short loan spell at Aston Villa last season, further indicating his readiness for a new chapter.

Reflecting on his long association with United, he added:

“People forget this, but 24, 23 years of my life was with Manchester United, so sometimes you just need a change. I think maybe this is the case with me, and I’m enjoying everything.”
