Manchester United’s resurgence under Ruben Amorim continues to gather pace after the Reds recorded their third consecutive victory on Saturday.

Amorim’s side defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 4–2 at Old Trafford, securing their first home win over the Seagulls since February 2022. The result lifted United into the European qualification spots following previous wins against Liverpool and Sunderland.

With no European commitments this season, Amorim’s men have the advantage of a full week to prepare for most league fixtures. So far in the 2024/25 campaign, United have registered five wins, one draw and four defeats across all competitions. Their next outing outside the Premier League will come in January, when they enter the FA Cup third round.

United will return to action on Saturday afternoon with an away trip to Nottingham Forest. Below is a look at their next five Premier League fixtures, alongside those of their closest rivals in the top-flight table.

Amorim emphasised the importance of Saturday’s win over Brighton, praising his players’ tactical awareness and growing confidence.

“It was really important — not just the result, but also the performance,” he said. “We had to play different games at different moments, and I think the players understood very well what to do in each situation.

“We had to suffer a bit at the end — it wouldn’t be Manchester United without a bit of suffering — but we deserved the win against a very good team, one that’s difficult to press high against. We did really well.”

The Portuguese manager also highlighted the growing self-belief within his squad.

“I think the players are more confident. Our best game this season was against Arsenal. When you have confidence, you play with a different spirit — it helps you to win matches. That’s what I’m feeling now. We’re a bit more free, and maybe a bit luckier because of that.”
