It’s the October international window for women’s football, and Germany are gearing up for their UEFA Women’s Nations League semi-final after a strong conclusion to the group stage back in June. The team also impressed earlier this year with a deep run in the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 qualifiers, where they fell to Spain in the semi-finals.

Germany will now face France across two legs, with the first match scheduled for Friday at 11:45 a.m. EDT (local time conversion applies), before the return leg next Tuesday — with the kick-off time yet to be confirmed.

The initial squad call-ups were released in mid-October, but a series of injuries has led to several adjustments in the team list.

Squad updates include:

• GK Rafaela Borggräfe (Liverpool) replaces Ena Mahmutović (Bayern Munich), who is sidelined with an ankle injury.

• MF Alara Şehitler (Bayern Munich) comes in for DF Sarai Linder (VfL Wolfsburg) due to load management.

• MF Linda Dallmann (Bayern Munich) steps in for her club teammate Lena Oberdorf, who is recovering from an ACL injury.

Additionally, there are first senior call-ups for several promising players:

• Laura Dick (TSG Hoffenheim) – Goalkeeper

• Camilla Küver (VfL Wolfsburg) – Defender

• Shekiera Martinez (West Ham United) – Forward

The German women’s side, managed by Horst Hrubesch, are looking to build on their recent form and maintain their status among Europe’s elite as they aim to reach the final of the inaugural UEFA Women’s Nations League.
