Bayern Munich’s flawless start to the Champions League campaign continued on Wednesday night as they swept aside Club Brugge 4–0 at the Allianz Arena.

The Belgian visitors struggled to match Bayern’s intensity and were comprehensively outclassed throughout the encounter, with Vincent Kompany’s side maintaining their unbeaten run in emphatic fashion.

Karl shines as Bayern strike early

Manager Vincent Kompany made several changes to his starting line-up, handing Lennart Karl his first Champions League start in place of Nicolas Jackson, while Raphaël Guerreiro replaced Sacha Boey at full-back.

The hosts got off to a flying start, immediately pinning Brugge deep in their own half. Their early dominance was rewarded in just the fifth minute when Jonathan Tah picked out Karl with a simple forward pass. The youngster cut inside with confidence before drilling a precise low shot into the corner from the edge of the box to give Bayern the lead.

Moments later, Aleksandar Pavlović almost doubled the advantage with a thunderous effort from distance, but Nordin Jackers produced a fine save to deny him.

The second goal arrived soon after, in the 14th minute, through a beautifully constructed team move. Konrad Laimer and Luis Díaz combined neatly on the left flank before the Austrian delivered a driven cross to Harry Kane, who finished clinically at the far post.

Relentless Bayern overpower visitors

Bayern refused to ease up, maintaining relentless pressure on their opponents. Karl nearly grabbed his second of the night just past the half-hour mark when Dayot Upamecano found him in space on the right. The young forward cut inside and unleashed a powerful strike that flew narrowly wide.

Only three minutes later, Luis Díaz effectively put the contest beyond doubt. Laimer linked up again with the Colombian winger, who collected the pass inside the box and fired a fierce effort beyond Jackers to register his first Champions League goal in Bayern colours.

The hosts came close to adding a fourth before half-time, with Jackers denying Díaz in the 45th minute and Kane striking the woodwork from the rebound.

Kompany’s side unrelenting after the break

Despite their comfortable lead, Bayern showed no signs of slowing down in the second half. Kompany’s men continued to press aggressively and carve open opportunities, while Manuel Neuer remained largely untroubled at the other end.

Their persistence paid off in the 79th minute when substitute Nicolas Jackson made it 4–0. After excellent interplay between Michael Olise and Laimer on the right, Laimer’s shot was initially saved by Jackers, but Jackson reacted quickest to bury the rebound and complete the rout.

Bayern limited Brugge to just two shots on target across the entire match, underlining their defensive solidity as well as their attacking prowess.

Bayern remain perfect but slip to second

Despite the victory, Bayern dropped to second place in their group standings due to Paris Saint-Germain holding a superior goal difference. Nevertheless, the Bavarian giants remain the only team across Europe’s top five leagues to have won every match so far this season.

Under Kompany, Bayern continue to evolve — combining youthful energy, tactical balance, and clinical finishing — and look every bit the European powerhouse they have long been renowned to be.
