James Argent has paid an emotional tribute to his close friend and former The Only Way Is Essex co-star Jake Hall following his sudden death at the age of 35.

Argent, widely known to fans as “Arg”, shared a heartfelt message on social media in honour of Hall, describing him as “one of a kind” with an “infectious energy”.
The 38-year-old television personality posted behind-the-scenes footage from a photoshoot the pair completed several years ago after Argent achieved a major weight-loss milestone.
Reflecting on the memory, Argent told his followers how grateful he was to still have the footage and photographs from that day.
‘It Hurts Real Bad’
In an emotional caption accompanying the video, Argent revealed he had been revisiting old messages, photos and voice notes shared throughout their friendship as he attempted to process the loss.
He wrote: “I’ve been processing the loss of my dear mate Jake. Watching videos, looking through photos, listening to voice notes and reading messages from our friendship. It hurts real bad.”
Argent explained that the footage had been filmed approximately four years ago after Hall organised a professional photoshoot to celebrate his weight-loss journey.
According to Argent, Hall personally arranged the videographer and photographer while also using clothing designs from his own fashion brand during the session at his East London studio.
The reality star admitted he initially felt uncomfortable about participating in the shoot, but Hall insisted because he wanted to help boost his confidence.
“He did this because he wanted me to finally feel good about myself,” Argent added. “He gave me so much confidence. He spent the day raising me up.”
The former TOWIE star also reflected on the joy they shared during the day, describing it as one of the memories he now treasures most.
“We didn’t stop laughing and had so much fun together. I’m so lucky to have this beautiful memory,” he wrote.
“Jake had infectious energy and was one of a kind. Love and miss my mate so much.”
Tributes Pour In From Friends and Former Co-Stars
Argent’s tribute was met with an outpouring of support from fans, celebrities and former TOWIE cast members, including Billie Shepherd, Danielle Armstrong and Ferne McCann.
Hall joined the cast of TOWIE in 2015 and quickly became a familiar face on the ITV reality series. During his time on the programme, he entered a high-profile relationship with fellow cast member Chloe Lewis before eventually leaving the show in 2024.
Away from television, Hall also built a successful career in fashion through his menswear label, By Jake Hall.
Ryan Thomas Shares Final Message
Actor Ryan Thomas was among several public figures to pay tribute following the news of Hall’s death.
Sharing a black-and-white video montage on social media, Thomas described Hall as “always the coolest guy in the room” and praised his “class, charisma” and unique presence.
In a touching message referencing Hall’s eight-year-old daughter River, Thomas vowed that she would grow up surrounded by stories celebrating her father’s life and influence.

Misse Beqiri, the mother of Hall’s daughter, also shared an emotional tribute online.
Posting several family photographs, she said the overwhelming response from the public following Hall’s passing had been “both heartbreaking and beautiful all at once”.
Beqiri described Hall as someone she had loved deeply from the moment they met and said he would continue to live on through their daughter.
