Marcus Rashford has praised Ruben Amorim for transforming the mindset of Manchester United's players.

Amorim took over as United manager during the recent international break, replacing Erik ten Hag. His first home Premier League match was against Everton on Sunday, where Rashford delivered a standout performance in a resounding 4-0 victory at Old Trafford.

The English forward scored twice, with Joshua Zirkzee adding the other two goals. This marked Amorim's third match in charge, following a draw at Ipswich Town and a Europa League win over Bodø/Glimt.

Rashford believes the Portuguese coach is already making a significant impact on the team, particularly in adjusting the players' mentality.

"The connection will build and grow the more we work with him," Rashford told Sky Sports. "He's come in during a busy period, and hopefully the connection continues to strengthen. He has brought in a great attitude, which has spread throughout the squad.

"It was a good result and important for us, especially with a new coach and a new style of play that we are still adapting to. We need to back up this performance and win again midweek. Individually, we are all striving to reach our best and then improve further.

"Even in challenging moments, we need to keep doing the right things. It's still early days, but I feel energised and ready for the next match. While this game has just ended, the focus is already on the next one."

Amorim, in turn, was full of praise for Rashford's impressive display but emphasised that both the player and the team have room for improvement.

"A new manager brings a fresh start, but there is still a lot of work to do. Rashford can achieve much more, and we all need to improve," Amorim told Sky Sports. "The players did a great job today. The result was positive, but we were pragmatic rather than spectacular.

"It wasn't the most attractive performance, but we got the job done, which is the priority. However, we must look beyond the result and focus on how we achieved it. For example, during the first few minutes, we were fine, but Everton managed to control parts of the game.

"The goals came at the right moments, which shifted the momentum. There is plenty to improve upon, but it's easier to work on these areas when you're winning.

"Our focus remains on the performance rather than the result. We experienced fluctuations in the game – moments of quality followed by moments of struggle. We need to work towards consistent performances rather than this rollercoaster pattern."

Amorim's tenure at Manchester United is still in its early stages, but his influence is already evident, as demonstrated by United's dominant display against Everton.
