Several countries, including Türkiye, have been evacuating their nationals following the deadly strikes Israel began launching across Lebanon on September 23.

A charter flight carrying 169 Turkish citizens, who were recently evacuated from the war-ravaged country of Lebanon, has landed safely at Istanbul Airport.

The flight touched down on Thursday after making a stop at Cukurova Airport in Adana, located in southern Türkiye. At this point, 110 of the passengers disembarked after completing the required procedures.

Upon arrival in Istanbul, the remaining passengers expressed their relief and happiness to be back in Türkiye when speaking with reporters.

Following the completion of passport control and processing, the passengers gathered their belongings and exited the airport.

This evacuation flight was organized by Türkiye for its citizens, departing from Beirut at 9 a.m. (0600 GMT) as part of the government's ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of its nationals in light of the Israeli attacks currently unfolding.

Previously, Turkish Navy ships facilitated the evacuation of nearly 1,000 individuals from Lebanon, including 878 Turkish citizens and 24 people from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Since September 23, Israel has been carrying out deadly strikes across Lebanon, targeting what it claims to be Hezbollah positions, which have resulted in over 1,500 deaths and more than 4,500 injuries.
